We strive to educate our region’s diverse population about the importance of preserving open spaces for both wildlife and our own well-being.

Classes — SCVAS offers a variety of classes and workshops in birding, natural history, nature drawing and more.

Bird Walks — SCVAS offers private guided bird walks for schools, scout groups, home school groups, and families at our office at McClellan Ranch and throughout the Santa Clara County.

Speaker Series — Our Speaker Series features photographers, biologists and wildlife enthusiasts and experts across many disciplines and backgrounds.

Eve Case Bird Discussion Group — research then talk in-depth about a specific bird each month

Education Resource Center — SCVAS hosts programs for both children and adults, educating our community about local bird ecology.

Become a Docent — Join our education team and share the wonder of nature with young people!

Wetlands Discovery Program — We aim to engage students, grades 3-5, in conservation and learning the value of wetlands.

Wildlife & Harvest Day — An annual fall event where hundreds of families come together to celebrate the harvest season and learn about local birds, nature, ecology, and wildlife. The 2020 festival begins October 24 and runs through Thanksgiving.

Mid-peninsula Environmental Educators Alliance (MEEA) — An informal association of environmental educators working together to achieve common goals.
