The City of San Jose together with POST and the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority are buying 937 acres in North Coyote Valley to provide open space for wildlife and for flood protection. SCVAS has worked toward this for so many years – we sued over the Cisco development, fought Measure B, supported Measures C and T, and advocated with council… this is truly wonderful, transformative news. We expect to participate in an anticipated master planning effort for North Coyote Valley, as well as to watch the current update to the City’s General Plan as San Jose considers job allocations to other parts of the city, including other areas of Coyote Valley, North San Jose, and the City’s core.
