Wilson’s Snipe by Ed Reed

Join us for a birdwatching trip by women, for women. We'll walk the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail from 101 to Levi's Stadium. This unglamorous trail can yield Wilson's Snipe in numbers, Hooded Mergansers, Western Bluebirds, Yellow-Rumped Warblers, and more.

Trip Difficulty: About 2 miles; paved, gravel, and dirt trails; muddy or possibly muddy after rain; little to no shade; stairs from parking lot to trail. Path is mostly flat, with some inclines and declines at the underpasses.

Other Trip Notes: Dress for the weather. Mornings can be foggy clearing to warm sun.

Meet: Visitor Parking lot at the Intel SC-12 building, 3600 Juliette Lane, Santa Clara, coordinates 37.386867, -121.967474

Directions: From US-101, take the Great America Parkway exit. Head towards the Bay. Turn right on Mission College Boulevard. Turn right on Juliette Lane. Turn right into the first driveway for SC-12. Turn right into the visitor parking lot.

Facilities: no facilities, good cell phone service
