Field Trip: Sierra Vista Sunrise

Experience the sunrise over Santa Clara Valley as we look for wintering and resident birds in the grasslands and rock outcroppings of the summit area. 

Trip Difficulty: 3-4 miles of moderately hilly terrain around the summit area, including the Aquila Loop trail and Sierra Vista trail

Meet: preserve parking lot, gates open at 6:45 am

Directions:  From I-680 in San Jose, exit Berryessa Rd. Travel east towards the hills for a little over a mile.  Turn left onto Piedmont Rd, then turn right onto Sierra Rd. The preserve parking lot is on your right in about 4 miles.
