Santa Teresa County Park (San Jose)

Located on the southern end of the Santa Teresa Hills, this park has a large grassy meadow surrounded by rocky hillsides. Let’s explore several of the nearby trails enjoying the wildflowers while looking for Ash-throated Flycatcher, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Lazuli Bunting and Lark Sparrow.

Optional: pack your own lunch/snack and we'll picnic together afterwards.

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, dirt trails, uneven or rutted trails, little or no elevation gain, little to no shade

Beginner Friendly, Family Friendly Ages 14 and up

Meet: Pueblo Day Use Area, near the bathrooms

Directions: From CA-85 S or US-101, exit Bernal Rd. Travel south on Bernal Rd for about 2.5 miles then turn left onto the park entrance road. Continue to the first parking lot and pay for parking at the pay station. The Pueblo Day Use Area is a little farther down the entrance road near the bathrooms. Facilities: ADA accessible bathroom, drinking water, cell coverage may be intermittent or non-existent
