Birding West Valley College Campus

Western Bluebird by Laura Kreutzer Forrest

Come bird the urban ecosystem at West Valley Community College, featuring a feeding station, oak woodlands, and riparian corridor. Join professor Leticia Gallardo to learn the ins and outs of birding here and to collect more data about bird populations on campus. We'll use eBird to contribute data on the birds we find in this under birded spot.

Trip Difficulty: 1.5 miles; paved, gravel, dirt and grass route; muddy or possibly muddy after rain; little or no elevation gain; some shade

Meet: In front of the Biology Building

Directions: From Highway 85, take the Saratoga Ave. exit. Head west, and turn left on Fruitvale Ave. Turn left on Allendale Ave. Turn right on Theater Way and follow it towards the right to Parking Lot 2. Park in parking lot 2 and meet in front of the Biology Building at GPS coordinates 37.266047, -122.008933
