Cedar Waxwing by Ron Baron

Cuesta Park for Beginners (Mountain View)

Join us on this easy course through Mountain View's Cuesta Park, where we will identify some of the birds that are often seen in our city parks and neighborhoods, including songbirds, hawks, woodpeckers, and hummingbirds. If we're lucky, we may catch sight of Pygmy Nuthatches, Cedar Waxwings, and newly-arrived Violet-green Swallows. This walk is geared towards beginning birders, but all are welcome.

Trip Difficulty: Approximately 1 mile, paved, grass, little or no elevation gain, some shade

Other Trip Notes: Please bring binoculars. Rain will cancel. Although park paths are paved, waterproof footwear is recommended for when we need to step off the path onto wet grass.
