Black-necked Stilts: Audry Nicklin

Celebrate Earth Day with the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge and partners!

*Come early to volunteer with habitat restoration with our Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful and SF Bay Bird Observatory! From 9am-12pm, you can make a difference by Weeding for Wildlife. Separate registration is required to reserve your spot.

Join us any time from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 21st, at the Environmental Education Center in Alviso. The event will be an open house, with time to explore, learn more about our endangered species, join a guided walk or ranger program, participate in some arts & crafts, and much more as we celebrate our Earth!

Extra Considerations and Accommodations:

  • We also encourage you to wear sun protection and comfortable clothes that are good for exploring the trails and bring layers in case it gets a bit windy. The entire event will take place outside, and we want everyone to feel comfortable and have fun!

  • If you plan on arriving around lunchtime, there will be some picnic tables and benches available for you to enjoy your packed lunches.

  • ADA compliant parking spaces, trails, and restrooms are available on-site.

  • Restrooms will be available on-site in the form of an ADA-compliant portable toilet and hand-washing station.

If you need any additional accommodations or have any questions, please email us at watershedwatchers@sfbayws.org, and we will do our best to respond to all requests.

This program is brought to you by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the San Francisco Bay Wildlife Society (SFBWS) thanks to support from the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program (SCVURPPP).

Thank you to our Earth Day partners, including: Saved by Nature, Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful, San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory, and Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society.
