Hellyer Park with Environmental Volunteers

Join the Young Birders Club and Environmental Volunteers for a stroll along Cottonwood Lake and the diverse environments of Hellyer Park. This beautiful San Jose urban park includes a mix of habitats, from riparian, woodland, to fresh water lake, providing us a wide variety of species in a small area. Led by Environmental Volunteers docent Alie Victorine, we’ll explore the lake, creek, and trees for incoming sparrows, songbirds, and more to kick off spring migration.

This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend! We welcome birders of all skill levels. Loaner binoculars are available for participants.

Meet: At the western parking lot of Cottonwood Lake.

Fees: $6 parking fee or Santa Clara County Park Pass.

Directions: From US-101 in San Jose, exit Hellyer Ave. Follow the signs for the county park
