Birds of the Maya

Please note that this meeting will be online.

Presenter: Alex Navarro

The Maya civilization covered what is now southern Mexico, Guatemala and parts of El Salvador and Honduras. Northern Central America is a land of diverse habitats due to its complex geography dotted with volcanoes. Present in the lowlands and montane areas are many of the common neotropical bird species that can be found well into South America, but it's in the highlands where the bird gems are, in my opinion. I will be presenting bird images from my travels in Mexico, Guatemala and my birthplace of El Salvador.
