With more than 1,930 bird species, Colombia´s reputation as #1 birding destination on the planet is undeniable.  Colombia´s extraordinary avian diversity covers a huge kaleidoscope of beautiful and gracious feathered creatures, from delightful hummingbirds, to diminutive wrens, colorful tanagers and enchanting antpittas. Thanks to its complex geography packed on a relatively small expanse of land, visitors can enjoy high-altitude Andean birding followed by explorations into the lowlands of the Pacific, the vast expanse of the Orinoco region or the dense Amazonian jungle. This talk is a brief introduction to the birding world that opens with Colombia´s return to peace and great job adapting to its role as a prime birding destination. The Neotropical “overload syndrome” that afflicts all birders on their first trip to Colombia is guaranteed!! Colombia is a birding paradise and for any bird photographer a “must visit” destination.
