Bay Birding for Beginners

Juvenile Black-necked Stilt by Mike Ambrose

Juvenile Black-necked Stilt by Mike Ambrose

This beginner-focused (but all skill levels welcome!) trip will meander through the gardens, marshes, and salt ponds of Don Edwards NWR. Thanks to the convenient trails and boardwalks, we'll be able to get closer to the birds, making it easier to identify and study them. We will look for the classic water birds - terns, shorebirds, ducks - plus migrant orioles in the garden, and anything else that shows up!

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, some paved trail, some flat dirt trail, some boardwalk. no elevation gain.
