Yellow-rumped Warbler by Deanne Tucker

Vasona Lake County Park - University Ave (Los Gatos)

Join us for a leisurely bird walk around the riparian woodlands, small lake, eucalyptus groves, and large manicured lawns of this urban Los Gatos park. Along with year-round residents such as Nuttall’s Woodpeckers, California Towhees, Chestnut-backed Chickadees and Oak Titmice, we’ll keep a special lookout for migrants, returning winter residents, and lingering summer residents such as Western Tanagers.

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, paved, dirt, and grass trails; little or no elevation gain; some shade

Other Trip Notes: Los Gatos can be upwards of several degrees F warmer than near the Bay, e.g., MV/SV/PA.
