Ulistac for Beginners

Join us for a leisurely bird walk to look for songbirds, woodpeckers, raptors and water birds. This urban open space with oak and riparian woodlands and seasonal wetlands contains the last 40 acres of natural, undeveloped land along the Guadalupe River in the city of Santa Clara. Park volunteers are continuing to remove invasive species and add California native plants, making this place a rich urban sanctuary great for year-round birding. This trip is geared towards beginners but all are welcome!

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, flat dirt trails and paved ramps up to the levee

Other Trip Notes: Please bring binoculars. Mosquito repellent recommended.

Meet: South entrance off Lick Mill Blvd.

Directions: From CA-237 exit Great America Pkwy south, drive 0.8 miles, then turn left on Tasman Dr. In 1 mile turn right on Lick Mill Blvd and travel about 0.5 miles to the park which will be on your left. Street parking. Latitude/Longitude: 37.403418, -121.953984

Facilities: No facilities. Restrooms available across the street at Lick Mill Park.
