Strolling for Birds at Overfelt Gardens

Overfelt Gardens, a San Jose city park, is the home of the Chinese Cultural Center. It is beloved by the local neighborhood who walk and often practice Tai Chi there. We will see White-breasted Nuthatches, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a mix of Sparrows (including Fox Sparrow), Hermit Thrush, Bufflehead, Mallards, Townsend's Warbler, American Robins, and Lesser Goldfinches. Hutton's Vireo, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Common Goldeneye, and Golden Eagle have all been seen in this park recently. Could be some early spring migrants showing up as well.

Trip Difficulty: 1.5-2.0 miles, flat paths made of asphalt good for all types of travel, by foot or chair. Mix of sun and shade on the trails.

Other Trip Notes: March is a blustery month and can be warm, cold, calm or windy.
