Red-breasted Sapsucker by Brooke Miller

Join us on a walk through the Stanford University arboretum and Arizona Garden. Search the pepper trees for sapsuckers, look and listen for buzzing Rufous and Allen’s Hummingbirds in the flowering eucalyptuses, and enjoy backyard favorites like California Towhee and California Scrub-Jay in the cactus garden.

Trip Difficulty: 1.5 miles, flat trails, all paved or hard-packed sand

Beginner Friendly, Family Friendly Ages 10 and up

Meet: Lasuen Restrooms (37.43409, -122.16575) 

Directions: The Lasuen Restrooms are located in the Stanford Arboretum just northwest of the Galvez Lot near the intersection of Campus Dr and Lasuen St (shown on campus map below). You'll need to park in one of the many public parking lots located on the Stanford Campus. The Galvez Lot is the closest to the meeting location but may be unavailable due to a special event. Use the campus parking map to locate additional parking areas. Public parking is free on the weekends.

Facilities:  bathrooms, drinking water, bike rack at the Galvez Lot

Parking Type and Fees: paved parking lot, ADA complaint parking available, no fees
