Field Trip: Guadalupe Oak Grove Park

Spring activity will have started in this residential Almaden Valley park where wide flat trails meander through groves of oaks. We will look for Yellow-rumped Warblers in breeding plumage, paired-up and nesting Western Bluebirds, and other oak woodland birds such as Acorn Woodpeckers, Chestnut-backed Chickadees, and Oak Titmice.  

Trip Difficulty: less than 2 miles on flat, decomposed granite trails

Meet: parking lot off of Thorntree Dr

Directions: From CA-85 in San Jose, exit Almaden Expy. Continue south for 1.2 miles then turn right onto McAbee Rd.
