Sanborn County Park

Sanborn Park, located in the hills above Saratoga, is a great place to see many birds that are not often found in the Santa Clara Valley. We’ll explore the redwoods, oak-madrone forest, and riparian habitats looking for such as Band-tailed Pigeon, Pacific Wren, Brown Creeper, Varied Thrush and, if we are very lucky, Pileated Woodpecker.

Trip Difficulty: 2.5 miles. Most of the walk will be on trails with moderate slope. One segment will be a steep down hill. Altitude gain estimated at 300-400 feet.

Other Trip Notes: Park gates open at 8:00 am

Leaders: David Zittin (408) 515-7104, Floy Zittin (408) 253-3258
