Birders on boardwalk by Ed Reed

Enjoy the shorebirds, ducks, and gulls on this monthly bird walk geared towards beginners but also rewarding for the more advanced birder. We’ll stroll around the duck pond, mudflats and tidal marsh then continue on to the boardwalk over the pickleweed.

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, flat crushed granite trails, some boardwalk

Meet: In front of Lucy Evans Baylands Nature Interpretive Center

Directions: From US-101 in Palo Alto take Embarcadero Rd east towards the bay. Pass the airport and turn left at the T-intersection. Continue for 0.5 miles passing the duck pond. Just over the bridge, the nature center (2775 Embarcadero Rd) will be on your left and the paved parking area will be on your right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.459521, -122.106344
