Mandarin Bilingual Birding Trip: Coyote Point Recreation Area

Join us for a memorable birding experience at Coyote Point Marina! Marvel at breathtaking views of the bay while spotting a variety of shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors and gulls. Spring is on the way so we may also see the early arrival warblers and swallows.

Binoculars: Bring your binoculars, and if you have a scope, bring it along. If you require binoculars, kindly select the "binoculars loaner" option during registration on Eventbrite. Your preparedness ensures a more enjoyable birding experience for everyone.

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, paved trails, little or no elevation gain, little to no shade

Other Trip Notes: The trip may be canceled due to special weather considerations, such as rain or fog. In such cases, the lead will send an email in advance to notify about the cancellation. Please be attentive to your email before you embark on the trip.

Meet: Eucalyptus Group Area parking lot

Directions: From US-101 North in San Mateo, take exit 417B for Peninsula Ave. Turn right onto Airport Blvd, turn left onto Coyote Point Dr. Travel on Coyote Point Dr, passing through the park entry kiosk. After entering the park, continue on Coyote Point Dr following the signs for the marina. In 0.7 miles, make a left to continue towards the marina parking. Parking will be on your right in 0.1 miles. We will meet at the parking area adjacent the playground near the Eucalyptus Group Picnic Areas. Latitude/Longitude: 37.587953, -122.318772.

Parking Type and Fees: paved parking lot, $6 vehicle entry fee; waived under certain conditions, including for seniors (62+ Mon-Fri non-holidays) -- see https://www.smcgov.org/parks/fees-charges for additional information.
