ED LEVIN CP - SPRING VALLEY AREA

Bullock's Oriole by Tom Grey

The trip will take a leisurely loop around the Spring Valley Pond and the adjacent lawn areas, where we will likely find 50+ species during our 2.5-hour walk. We'll check the trees for Rufous and Allen's Hummingbirds, Bullock's and Hooded Orioles, and hopefully Lawrence's Goldfinches as Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets hunt on the pond. All the while we'll have to keep an eye to the sky for this location's abundant raptors; Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk, White-tailed Kite, Merlin, American Kestrel, and Peregrine Falcon are all possible here!

Trip Difficulty: 1 mile; flat, gravel or paved trails, as well as lawn areas (which may be wet in the morning, so plan accordingly).

Other Trip Notes: Masks are optional- please feel free to wear one if you would like.
