Wilson’s Phalaropes by John Scharpen

This field trip explores parts of Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge In Alviso. We'll walk the boardwalk of the New Chicago Marsh - a great spot for shorebirds like Least Sandpipers and Long-billed Dowitchers, and Wilson's Phalarope. We'll also explore the upland areas and entrance road.

Trip Difficulty: 1.5 miles, flat trails with no elevation gain

Meet: parking lot for the Don Edwards Environmental Education Center

Directions: From CA-237 exit north onto Zanker Rd. Continue on Zanker Rd for about 2.5 miles (Zanker Rd becomes Los Esteros Rd). Make a sharp right turn onto Grand Blvd and continue into the park. Latitude/Longitude: 37.439242, -121.959694
