Coyote Valley OSP Parking Lot

The parking lot of Coyote Valley OSP is one of the best places to enjoy our county's winter specialties, so we'll just sit still and wait for the birds to come to us! We'll look for this area's winter residents such as American Kestrel, White-tailed Kite, Northern Harrier, Golden Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Tricolored Blackbird, Yellow-billed Magpie, and maybe get lucky with a Lewis's Woodpecker!

Trip Difficulty: No Walking! Standing still in a packed dirt area adjacent to the parking lot.

Other Trip Notes: Bring a scope if you have one, masks are optional. Check the weather that morning and layer if necessary.

Meet: We will meet at the dirt area adjacent to the Coyote Valley OSP parking lot.

Directions: From US-101 in Morgan Hill, exit Bailey Ave. Travel west for about 0.7 miles then turn left onto Santa Teresa Blvd. Continue for about 2 miles then turn right onto Palm Ave. The preserve is at the end of the road. Latitude/Longitude: 37.171260, -121.727610

Facilities: ADA compliant bathroom, cell phone service, picnic tables

Parking Type and Fees: 2 ADA compliant parking spots, paved parking. No parking fee.
