Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve

Come south towards Morgan Hill and explore grassland and Blue Oak woodlands looking for raptors such as American Kestrels, Northern Harriers and courting Red-tailed Hawks. Ferruginous Hawks, Golden Eagles and Peregrine falcons are possible. We'll also be on the lookout for Yellow-billed Magpies, Loggerhead Shrikes and Say's Phoebes. We will explore the meadow for about ½ mile on a flat dirt path, then if time permits we will continue up the Arrowhead Loop trail to the overlook, about ¾ mile one-way. Trail to overlook is moderately strenuous.
