COYOTE VALLEY: LOVE AND RAPTORS IN THE AIR
The agricultural fields of the Coyote Valley floor in South San Jose/Morgan Hill are excellent birding for raptors and grassland specialties. A popular stop is Laguna Ave, where with luck you can watch courting Red-tailed Hawks, Golden Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, and more from the road! This trip will be mostly stationary, with special attention paid to the breeding behavior of our local raptors.
Trip Difficulty: 1 mile maximum (mostly stationary but we could possibly do some walking up and down the road to get a better view), flat paved road
Other Trip Notes: A spotting scope is recommended but not required.

Meet: Laguna Ave west of Santa Teresa Blvd
Directions: On US-101, head south towards Morgan Hill. Exit Bailey Ave. Turn right onto Bailey Ave, then make a left on Santa Teresa Blvd. Laguna Ave will be on your right. If you're coming from Morgan Hill/Gilroy, exit US-101 at Bailey and turn left onto Bailey, left on Santa Teresa, and finally right on Laguna. Park towards the end of this dead-end road. Parking Type and Fees: Parking on the side of a paved rural road, some dirt.
