Calero Creek Trail

This pretty trail runs alongside the base of the Santa Teresa Foothills passing through grasslands, chaparral, riparian habitat, and an old orchard. Possible birds include Rufous-crowned Sparrow, Orange-crowned Warbler, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and Pacific-slope Flycatcher.

Trip Difficulty: 2.5 miles, dirt trails, no elevation gain but trails are rutted, little shade

Meet: Stile Ranch parking lot

Directions: From CA-85 in San Jose, exit Almaden Expy south. Drive south for about 5 miles, turn right onto Harry Rd, take the next left onto McKean Rd and go 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Fortini Rd, in 0.6 miles turn left onto San Vicente Ave. Parking is on the right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.203347, -121.806014

Parking Type and Fees: dirt parking lot, no fees

Facilities: no bathrooms or drinking water, nearest facilities at Calero County Park, Rancho San Vicente entrance
