Ruby-crowned Kinglet by Dave Zittin

This pretty out-and-back flat dirt trail passes through chaparral, riparian, and grassland habitats giving us a chance to look for Rufous-crowned Sparrows, Lincoln Sparrows, Savannah Sparrows, Wrentits, California Thrashers, Yellow-rumped Warblers and Ruby-crowned Kinglets.

Trip Mileage/Conditions: 2.5 miles, flat, dirt trail, can be uneven in places. There is a trail barrier (1 ft high) at the trailhead that might be difficult to step over for some people.

Meet: Stile Ranch parking lot on San Vicente Ave

Directions: From CA-85 in San Jose, exit Almaden Expy south. Drive south for about 5 miles, turn right onto Harry Rd, take the next left onto McKean Rd and go 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Fortini Rd, in 0.6 miles turn left onto San Vicente Ave. Parking is on the right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.203347, -121.806014
