Beginner-friendly - Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant

The Water Pollution Control Plant In Sunnyvale backs up to a beautiful and diverse piece of the bay. We'll explore the network of trails looking for terns, lingering and returning ducks, herons, and more.

Beginner Friendly, Family Friendly All Ages

Meet: On the northside of W Caribbean Dr, just west of Borregas Ave, where the trail intersects the road

Directions: Note! New starting point! The parking lot on Carl Rd is closed. From CA-237 in Sunnyvale, exit Lawrence Expy/Caribbean Dr. Continue onto Caribbean Dr. In a little over one mile, you’ll pass Borregas Ave. After you’ve passed Borregas Ave, park anywhere along W Caribbean Dr. Latitude/Longitude: 37.417656,-122.019014

Note: If the parking on W Caribbean Dr has filled up, additional parking is available (weekends-only) at the office complex at 701 1st Ave. From the meeting point, take the first right onto 1st Ave. Take the first right into the office complex parking lot, parking is on your right and labeled “Visitor Parking”. If the gate guard is there, just let them know you will be using the Bay Trail. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the meeting spot. Latitude/Longitude for alternate parking: 37.416714, -122.025630

Facilities: ADA compliant porta-potty near start (usually unpleasant); drinking water
