Beginner-friendly Summer at Charleston Slough (Mountain View)

Summer birding may not bring the same variety of ducks and shorebirds, but we'll enjoy the variety of swallows and amazing California Gull colony on this flat bayside walk in Mountain View. This is a great first birding trip, as the flat bay landscape makes many of the birds easy to see.

Trip Difficulty: 3 miles, gravel and dirt trails, little or no elevation gain, little to no shade
