American Dipper along Los Gatos Creek Trail

Is there an American Dipper along the Los Gatos Creek Trail, south of Main Street in Los Gatos? Join us for a 2-mile search!

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles. Primarily a wide dirt trail, but with a few short sections of narrow uphill and downhill paths.

Other Trip Notes: Please bring rain gear and layers just in case of inclement weather.

Beginner Friendly

Meet: Trailhead on East Main Street in Los Gatos (37.221412, -121.981726)

Driving and Parking Directions: FFrom CA-17 south, exit State Route 9 (Saratoga – Los Gatos Road) and head west about 0.2 miles. Turn left on to University Avenue, drive 0.5 miles, turn left onto Main Street, turn right onto Park Ave for the parking lot (37.221367, -121.982927). Please don’t park in the employee parking area. If this parking lot is full, another option is the underground parking garage which can be accessed just south of Sur La Table on University Ave (37.222698, -121.982527). The trailhead will be on Main St on the right just past the CA-17 overpass. 

Facilities: No bathroom facilities available.
