| Bonnie supports one of the most basic tools of our Audubon chapter: our award-winning newsletter, The Avocet. This bi-monthly mailer serves as SCVAS' primary means of communicating with our 3000-plus members and the general public. It announces our many programs, events, and field trips and communicates information about local birds and current conservation issues. Since September of 1998, Bonnie has cheerfully and skillfully handled the graphics and print preparations for The Avocet. She volunteers her personal talent and professional services through her business, Cherry Pie Graphics. Bonnie works with the layout and formatting of our newsletter and spruces its pages up with her charming illustrations of binoculars, birds, and other subjects. She collaborates with our editor and staff and communicates with our printers in order to create an excellent publication for our readers. Not only does Bonnie contribute at least 10 hours per issue to artfully produce The Avocet, she also donates her time, energy, and resources to creating beautiful outreach and event materials, such as our organization's brochure, posters for special events, design for our stationery package, and production resources for the yearly fundraising campaign. And she'd never miss participating in the San Jose and Calero-Morgan Hill Christmas Bird Counts. We feel very fortunate to have Bonnie on our team of wonderful volunteers.
