Description: This walk is organized jointly by Los Gatos Birdwatcher and SCVAS, and is open to all.

Learning to use your ears will aid you greatly in identifying and finding your birds. This workshop will concentrate on how to use bird calls and chip notes when birding. While there is less song during the fall, birds continue to communicate using other types of vocalization, so we’ll cover the differences between birdsong and chip notes. We will concentrate on the birds we can find here in the Bay Area in the fall and into the winter. We will review Yellow-rumped Warbler, Spotted Towhee, Cedar Waxwing, Anna’s Hummingbird, Nuttall’s Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Bewick’s Wren, and both the White-crowned and Golden-crowned Sparrow.
