Topic: "Bird Photos from My India Journeys" with Harjeet Singh
Description: After moving to Silicon Valley in 2007 and picking the hobby of bird photography, I always used to long to photograph birds back in India. Visiting family in Delhi, the capital city, made me explore the Okhla Bird Sanctuary very frequently during my trips. Okhla Bird Sanctuary is a wetland habitat in flood plains of river Yamuna which flows across Delhi. Also a trip to Saattaal became almost a guaranteed sojourn given the diversity and amazing chances to see and photograph some of the resident Lower Himalayan Range (1370 m) species. Saattaal is considered as Mecca for birders in India and is one of the most visited spots for birding. The other hotspot I have visited during my trips to India is Ganeshgudi in southern India. My presentation will be dominated by these two hotspots of birding paradise apart from a few other places.
