Topic: "The Quest to Photograph One of the Rarest Birds in North America" with Julio Mulero
Description:The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska is one of the last unspoiled places in our continent and home to one of the hardest to find North American breeding birds, the Gray-headed Chickadee. This bird does not migrate south in the winter like many songbirds and the scarcity of records in ebird suggests that this bird is not seen annually. Every year a few adventurous birders make a trip up north for a chance to see this most rare of birds.
This presentation chronicles the birds that were encountered on this trip, the extraordinary landscapes as well as the logistics of getting to one of the most remote areas left in North America.
