Session #2: First Day of Summer
Cost: Free class, parking fee is $6
Description: This walk is organized jointly by California Native Plant Society, Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society, and Open Space Authority, and is open to all.
Do you love being outdoors? Do you want to deepen your appreciation of nature by learning the names of birds and plants around you? At the onset of summer, join us for a beginner's bird and plant identification walk through Lake Cunningham Park - a major destination for waterfowl and migratory birds, and home to many resident birds. Vicki Silvas-Young will show you how to identify common local birds and the native plants they depend on for food, shelter, and nesting places. Trip distance is four miles round-trip on a level path. Bring a hat, water, bird and plant list, binoculars, and walking shoes.
Note: Parking fee is $6.
Space is limited! RSVP to Arvind Kumar at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot and to receive directions and details.
